Position Summary

The Buyer Position will be responsible for procuring items from vendors and effectively managing such inventory in regards to ordering and replenishing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and replenishment of various food and non-food items
  • Category Management Cycle on responsible categories
  • Maintain accurate acquisition costs
  • Maintain inventory goals as assigned by management
  • Keeping supplier and item information up to date in both the host system and replenishment software package
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Proven experience in as a Buyer or in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA, etc.) is a plus, but not required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years experience in food procurement, preferable in supply chain or category management.
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field (preferred).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
