Job Description

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, organization, and finalization of projects within an approved budget and desired timeline. Responsibilities also include identifying resource needs and coordinating with manufacturing, vendors, and 3rd-party contractors/consultants to execute and deliver projects according to plan.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the project lifecycle including working with project sponsors, key stakeholders, team members, and management to oversee all phases of project execution.
  • Work with the Engineering team and project stake holders to define project's scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Create documentation required for project funding requests and provide required follow-up through project approval.
  • Build and manage a project's work breakdown structure, schedule, risks, issues, and deliverables within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Prepare annual/quarterly/monthly project forecasts with close collaboration with other stake holders and Finance. Manage and track project spending versus the forecasts while adjusting plans to meet targets when needed.
  • Establish and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for project-level questions and status. Provide status updates on a regular basis while highlighting any potential project risks or barriers. Provide risk mitigation and contingency plans as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Duracell's established capital management and engineering work processes during all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Complete assets capitalization and project close out activities on time.
  • Participate in internal/ external audits of the capital projects.
  • Ensure all project changes are documented and approved according to the company's requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective strategic working relationships with colleagues at all levels in the organization.
  • Deep understanding of project cost estimates and experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of SAP project management module is desired.
  • Exceptional organizational skills including a high level of attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of MS Office applications, most notably MS-Project, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to be a technical strategic thought leader as well as a "hands-on" implementer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Ability to design and implement projects/studies outside area of expertise.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently with limited supervision.
TRAVEL
  • This position may require some domestic and possibly international travel (est. 5-10%)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or similar technical discipline.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience is desired, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing medium to large sized projects through all phases (feasibility through start-up / commissioning).
  • PMP certification is preferred but not required.
