Job Title: Sourcing Engineer

Location : Onsite - Charlotte, NC, Mocksville, NC, or Buffalo, NY Summary : We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sourcing Engineer to support sourcing for the Plant Air Centrifugal (PAC), including Engineer to Order (ETO), new products and aftermarket parts. This person will be a member of our Industrial Technologies & Services Americas Sourcing Organization, supporting the development, implementation, and management of PAC ETO to provide Ingersoll Rand with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. The Sourcing Engineer builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met, as well as workstowards good supplier relationships to achieve maximum advantage for Ingersoll Rand and our customers.

Responsibilities Lead negotiations and supplier selection to support market acceptable lead time (MALT) Continuously looks for new savings opportunities through analysis of data (spend, purchase price variance, etc.) and hands on review of materials in the production areas. Develop and execute procurement strategies for the acquisition of new machinery and aftermarket parts. Utilize tools such as RFP, RFQ, RFI, spend analysis, and market research to achieve business goals like improving project win rates and expanding margins in accordance with the AOP objectives. Works with suppliers and internal team members to qualify new parts. Develop strategy for tooling’s, patterns, single source elimination, source-controlled parts, inactive and non-strategic suppliers for aftermarket Analyze commodity market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and negotiate with suppliers including pricing, payment terms, lead time, and inventory programs. Records and tracks information as required for timely and accurate measure of performance regarding sourcing activities and savings. Support the plants to help local teams efficiently resolve escalated issues. Leads Procurement NPD activities through preferred supplier programs and RFQ's. Identify gaps to goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets. Work to align strategies between commodity and sector localization, plant rationalization and similar Works with suppliers to address significant and/or systemic issues with performance (quality, delivery, warranty, etc.) as may be required in support of plant Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality teams Responsible for coordinating with commodity teams, materials, operations, engineering, finance, quality, and field operations to complete projects and achieve expected benefits within project timeline. Creates continuous improvement ideation sessions for responsible plants. Generate and evaluate new ideas and opportunities aligned with plant priorities and strategies. Participate in and represent Sourcing function during plant or product Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) or Major Model Review (MMR) events. Responsible for collecting and communicating commodity actions following event. Performs additional duties as assigned and participates in special projects as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent 5+ of progressively responsible job-related experience Incumbent must have well-developed negotiation skills and assessing vendors. Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, is required. Proficiency using Excel at an advanced level (use financial and logical functions; work with multiple worksheets and workbooks; edit and use macros/ import and export information) is strongly preferred. Previous lean manufacturing or 6 Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt experience a plus Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy, and using it to drive decisions as well as present results and business cases to management Oracle & SAP experience in a global environment is beneficial Ability to travel up to 20% The successful candidate will: Be a self-starter; motivated with expert overall sourcing expertise. Incumbent must have strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated effective leadership and influencing skills and practices Experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation and conflict resolution skills Ability and willingness to understand and interact with diverse groups and cultures Evidence of skills & attributes including effective listening, gathering complete information, ensuring accuracy, problem-solving, negotiating, researching discrepancies, and handling conflict are critical. Work closely with internal stakeholders, and Conduct regular supplier performance reviews to Improve underperforming Procure to pay (P2P) sourcing processes. Implement best practices to enhance the overall performance of the aftermarket sourcing function. The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet compressed deadlines, and handle frequent interruptions is essential.
