Job Description

Position: Cloud Solutions Engineer specializing in AWS

Duration: Long-term engagement

Key Qualifications:
• Over 7 years of expertise in data engineering, data warehousing, or similar fields.
• Profound hands-on experience with Snowflake implementations and enhancements, particularly in real-time data processing involving AWS S3 data lakes and legacy data sources.
• Proven track record in performance tuning and query optimization within Snowflake, managing high-volume data pipelines for reliability and efficiency.
• Proficient in ETL transformations for legacy data sources, with the ability to translate JCL code into Python-based ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with AWS Glue ETL, AWS Lake Formation, or other ETL tools compatible with Snowflake for data transformation.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Finance and Treasury Data Engineering team to construct pipelines that facilitate easy access to data across the organization. As a Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will be instrumental in enhancing our analytics framework. Your role will involve designing, building, and deploying data solutions that capture, explore, transform, and utilize data to support business intelligence, machine learning, and artificial intelligence initiatives.
• Develop and manage the auto-ingestion of high-volume data pipelines to integrate Snowflake with AWS S3 data lakes and legacy data sources.
• Design data integration solutions to create pipelines for data exchange with various database applications.
• Build data flows using AWS Glue ETL or other compatible ETL tools for data transformation, handling ETL processes for legacy data sources.
• Oversee data governance and lineage using AWS Lake Formation service.
• Create and manage data APIs in Python to facilitate data exchange and integration with Snowflake.
• Engage closely with clients to understand their data requirements and design suitable Snowflake solutions.
• Provide expert advice on the implementation and optimization of Snowflake solutions.
• Optimize Snowflake environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance within Snowflake solutions.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients on best practices and effective usage of Snowflake.

Additional Qualifications:
• Experience with AWS Glue ETL, AWS Lake Formation, or any ETL tool compatible with Snowflake for data transformation.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake features such as SnowPipe, Bulk Copy, Tasks, Streams, Stored Procedures, and UDFs.
• 4+ years of experience with AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda) or Azure services (Blob Storage, ADLS gen2, ADF).
• Familiarity with CI/CD deployment processes for AWS services and Snowflake solutions, along with experience in repositories like GitLab or GitHub.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment using tools like Terraform or equivalent for AWS services and Snowflake solutions.
• 4+ years of experience in building and managing APIs using Python/Pyspark integration with Snowflake and cloud platforms.

Preferred Skills:
• Snowflake certification (e.g., SnowPro Core Certification).
• Experience with other data warehousing tools and technologies (e.g., Azure Synapse, Redshift).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks.
