Overview:
Are you ready to embark on an exciting career journey and develop a robust foundation in audit services? Join BerryDunn as an Audit Intern and gain hands-on experience with critical financial processes such as cash management, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, payrolls, and expense analysis. This internship offers an opportunity to work with clients across diverse industries such as Health Care, Not-for-Profit, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Construction, Higher Education, and many others. This position is based out of our Portland, ME headquarters.
What You'll Do:
- Review & Audit Engagements: Participate with team members on audit and review engagements supervised by senior staff members.
- Research: Conduct thorough research on audit issues utilizing firm software.
- Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients from a wide range of industries, gaining exposure to diverse business practices.

- Spring 2025 running from January 7, 2025 through April 11, 2025 (co-op program students may be eligible to extend).

Responsibilities:
Receive Training & Development:
Our comprehensive training program provides both technical and soft skills training, as well as an introduction to the firms systems, operations, and procedures including:
- CaseWareTrial Balance and Electronic Workpapers Software
- Depreciation Solution Software (DSW)
- Internal Office Procedures
Additional Opportunities:
- Participate with team members on audit and review engagements and/or special projects supervised by senior staff members.
- Develop an understanding of client businesses by working on a project team.
- Identify and document task issues and progress in a timely and organized manner.
- Access learning and development resources to build your foundational career toolkit.
- Act as an ambassador to prospective interns from your university.
Qualifications:

Additional Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a student in an Accounting or related business program
- Available to work a minimum of 24 hours per week over three business days (opportunities for 40 hours during summer session)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Strong analytical, communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Compensation Details:
The base hourly rate for this role is $28.00 an hour. This salary range represents BerryDunns good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
