With a heritage of technological excellence, our team serves customers in the communications, defense, medical, industrial, and scientific markets.YOUR DAY TO DAY: Ensures the orderly and timely flow of component parts, assemblies, and subassemblies in sufficient time to meet the requirements of the production schedule. Responsible for issuance of materials to production operations. Entails critical handling of large/heavy work pieces to allow operators and others to perform operations such as shearing, punching, drilling, bending, and deburring. Performs area cleanup and safety related duties. Ensure an effective inventory control over all incoming and stocked material, equipment, and supplies. Proficient in performing all essential functions independently if needed.YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:May analyze production rates data, review stock records, and prepare purchase orders to determine stock status against production requirementsCommunicate clearly with coworkers, planners, material managers, and internal customersIdentify material shortages and supports problem solving resolutionsDocument and distributes scrap/ salvage partsHelp set and work toward team goalsCoordinate and prioritize individual daily activitiesSupport continuous improvement activitiesActively participates in meetingsMay handle and process classified materialLifts heavy items and may operate a forkliftMay kit daily or weekly assembly picks as required by job functionPerforms other duties as neededYOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:Possesses necessary computer skills to proficiently handle routine tasks.General knowledge of material planning, control, and inventory methodologyGeneral knowledge of bill of material, manufacturing/test documentation and drawing tree conceptsGeneral organizational skillsGeneral communication skills, both verbal and writtenGeneral customer service skillsGeneral collaboration skillsGeneral knowledge of the manufacturing systems and associated dataExhibits adaptability and flexibilityAbility to recognize and meet schedule prioritiesGeneral knowledge of Government / Customer Property ControlAbility to track, expedite, and pick material shortages to the manufacturing floorAbility to complete work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognize the need for occasional deviation from accepted practiceAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to follow established procedures on routine work, only requiring specific instructions on new assignmentsGood computer skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 30 pounds or more without assistanceAbility to stand or walk for extended periods of timeAbility to easily and repeatedly climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel and stretchAbility and willingness to work at various heights using a ladder or liftAbility to obtain a forklift, manlift, or any other industrial vehicle licenseWHAT WE OFFER:Whether you are a seasoned professional or just embarking on your career, CPI is an ideal place to expand your knowledge and expertise.
