YOUR DAY TO DAY:

Ensures the orderly and timely flow of component parts, assemblies, and subassemblies in sufficient time to meet the requirements of the production schedule. Responsible for issuance of materials to production operations. Entails critical handling of large/heavy work pieces to allow operators and others to perform operations such as shearing, punching, drilling, bending, and deburring. Performs area cleanup and safety related duties. Ensure an effective inventory control over all incoming and stocked material, equipment, and supplies. Proficient in performing all essential functions independently if needed.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • May analyze production rates data, review stock records, and prepare purchase orders to determine stock status against production requirements
  • Communicate clearly with coworkers, planners, material managers, and internal customers
  • Identify material shortages and supports problem solving resolutions
  • Document and distributes scrap/ salvage parts
  • Help set and work toward team goals
  • Coordinate and prioritize individual daily activities
  • Support continuous improvement activities
  • Actively participates in meetings
  • May handle and process classified material
  • Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift
  • May kit daily or weekly assembly picks as required by job function
  • Performs other duties as needed

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:

  • Possesses necessary computer skills to proficiently handle routine tasks.
  • General knowledge of material planning, control, and inventory methodology
  • General knowledge of bill of material, manufacturing/test documentation and drawing tree concepts
  • General organizational skills
  • General communication skills, both verbal and written
  • General customer service skills
  • General collaboration skills
  • General knowledge of the manufacturing systems and associated data
  • Exhibits adaptability and flexibility
  • Ability to recognize and meet schedule priorities
  • General knowledge of Government / Customer Property Control
  • Ability to track, expedite, and pick material shortages to the manufacturing floor
  • Ability to complete work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognize the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow established procedures on routine work, only requiring specific instructions on new assignments
  • Good computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds or more without assistance
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to easily and repeatedly climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel and stretch
  • Ability and willingness to work at various heights using a ladder or lift
  • Ability to obtain a forklift, manlift, or any other industrial vehicle license
