The Performance Engineers are a critical team within IT, which perform key functions that support all of IT and our business. Using a shift-left mentality to be proactive against potential production issues, this team will be consulting and collaborating with architects and developers on the development of stable, healthy applications and infrastructure. They will also be responsible for using cutting edge monitoring solutions to provide support on outages and application analysis with our development teams. Performance Engineers are expected to act as a technical resource that supports the stability of our systems and infrastructure. SREs will participate in every stage of the development lifecycle, from analysis and design to program coding, testing, release and maintenance while adhering to current System Development Methodology (SDM) processes. Knowledge of a variety of web development languages is required. Experience working with a variety of our applications is preferred, as well as experience identifying trends and areas of concern with scalability and consistent system uptime. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Work closely with the Performance Engineer team on building application monitoring tools. Troubleshoot production issues with a goal toward a minimal mean time to resolution and prevention of issues. Develop projects and aid in maintaining the system architecture. Help document and train the solution architecture to other developers. Coordinate the elicitation of business requirements and turn them into the technical solution. Understand the process flow and use best practices. Maintain appropriate level of communication about progress and notify all parties involved when schedule impacts occur. Use problem solving to recognize there is a problem or issue and clearly communicate the problem to leadership.
