If you’re a Field Service Engineer , we have an exciting opportunity for you. This position involves installing, repairing, and modifying Woodward control systems (hardware and software) for applications in Steam and Gas Turbines - Power Generation and Mechanical Drive. The successful candidate will need to work independently at the customer's location with little or no support or supervision. What You Will Be Doing Performs and oversees the installation or replacement of equipment and control software and may direct lower-level Field Service Engineer. Repairs, replaces or modifies equipment utilizing the knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems, along with using standard test instruments and hand tools. Uses Woodward hardware and software to analyze malfunctions, configure systems, tune/adjust dynamics and make minor software modifications. Provides technical support onsite and remotely for troubleshooting of control systems, utilizing Woodward hardware and software. What We Are Looking For A bachelor’s degree in engineering (BA/BS) is required. Alternatively, an associate’s degree in a technical field, along with an additional 5+ years of experience in a relevant field, is acceptable. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field. Strong communication skills are required to effectively communicate with technicians, clients, and various cultures. A strong understanding of Woodward products and applications is a plus. The candidate must possess competent skills in complex problem-solving and troubleshooting, even with incomplete information. The candidate must possess knowledge in power generation. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve work efficiencies.
