Responsibilities Stellar Industries, Inc. is looking for a team member to lead its Purchasing department. This person will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Purchasing department as well as the coordination of the Purchasing team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies. Maintains close coordination with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities. Secure and analyze quotations and negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers. Interview and confer with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Develop and present metrics regarding market conditions, pricing, supplier on-time delivery, and quality. Develop and communicate material/component forecasts to suppliers. Visit current and potential suppliers' facilities to qualify them as sources. Lead supplier development initiatives. Participate in projects and continuous improvement processes. Interview and hire staff and oversee staff training. Execute cost savings initiatives to meet annual cost savings goals. Develop operating strategies, plans, or procedures. Complete special projects, assignments, and other duties as assigned.
