We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Social Media & Content Strategy who can work remotely from one of the following states: AR, OK, ME, or MO. POSITION SUMMARY: Summit is searching for a strategic thinker and seasoned leader to serve as our Social Media & Content Strategy Manager. The role will oversee the creation of high-quality, relevant, and engaging content spanning articles, blog posts, infographics, videos, and more. Meticulously managing marketing projects and media placement for Safety, Energy Efficiency, and other departments, you will contribute to overarching goals and meet any regulatory-required marketing parameters. Your expertise will extend to the development of comprehensive content strategy aligned with overall marketing objectives and target audience. This involves a firm understanding of our brand's voice, identifying content themes, and defining the types of content that will be used across different platforms. As the leading force behind social media campaigns, you will lead marketing across various platforms. Deep audience research is a key aspect of your responsibilities, involving in-depth analysis of customer's preferences, behavior, and pain points. This information will aid in generating tailored content for maximum resonance and increased consumer sentiment. In addition to managing social media campaigns, the role will also oversee budget allocation, audience targeting, ad creatives, and performance monitoring to achieve specific marketing objectives. Utilizing analytics tools to track the performance of content and social media campaigns, you will provide regular reports and insights to the marketing team, working closely with the Manager of Creative Services & Digital Marketing to integrate social media data analytics into overall reporting. The person who fills this role must have a commitment to staying up to date with industry trends, social media platform algorithms and best practices, and content marketing know-how to drive brand awareness and positive consumer sentiment. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage two direct reports within the Marketing Team to ensure strategic planning and execution. Demonstrate seasoned leadership by overseeing team performance, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, and leading the successful implementation of campaigns and projects. Lead the Customer Service Social Media Team, ensuring effective training, guidance, and supervision of responses requiring troubleshooting or unique attention. Act as a liaison with other teams and departments for topics requiring immediate attention. Proactively manage education and awareness initiatives for the team regarding significant changes, news sharing, and events impacting customers, with a focus on driving increased engagement and comments Content Creation and Curation: Overseeing the creation of high-quality, relevant, and engaging content, which may include articles, blog posts, infographics, videos, and more. Safety, CIP/EE, Peaks, VTO, Community Giving, Recruitment, ESG, Nat Gas Benefits, Customer Account Info, Offers (Newsletters, Bill Inserts, Blogs, Website, Social Media) Meticulously manages marketing projects and media placement for Safety, Energy Efficiency, and other departments as needed to aid goals or meet regulatory requirements tied to their department initiatives Knowledge and understanding of all social media platforms, audiences, and best practices Content Strategy Development: Creating a comprehensive content strategy aligned with the overall marketing objectives and target audience. This involves understanding the brand voice, identifying content themes, and defining the types of content that will be used across different platforms. Content Creation and Curation: Overseeing the creation of high-quality, relevant, and engaging content, which may include articles, blog posts, infographics, videos, and more. Additionally, curating user-generated content or third-party content that aligns with the brand message. Social Media Management: Planning and executing social media campaigns across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). This includes scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, responding to comments, and analyzing social media performance. Audience Research: Conducting in-depth research on the target audience to understand their preferences, behavior, and pain points. This information helps tailor content to resonate with the audience and achieve better results. Channel Selection: Identifying the most suitable social media platforms and channels for the brand’s target audience. Not all platforms may be relevant, so focusing on the ones with the highest potential for engagement is essential. SEO Integration: Collaborating with the SEO team to optimize content for search engines and ensure that content aligns with relevant keywords and topics to improve organic discoverability. Content Distribution: Developing a plan for distributing content effectively across different channels, including social media, email newsletters, websites, and other platforms, to maximize reach and engagement. Social Media Advertising: Managing social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, audience targeting, ad creatives, and performance monitoring to achieve specific marketing objectives. Analytics and Reporting: Utilizing analytics tools to track the performance of content and social media campaigns. Providing regular reports and insights to the marketing team to assess the success of initiatives and identify areas for improvement. Works closely with Senior Digital Marketing Specialist to fold social media data analytics into overall reporting. Community Management: Building and maintaining a positive online community around the brand, fostering engagement, responding to queries, addressing concerns, and managing brand reputation. Collaboration and Coordination: Working closely with other members of the marketing team, such as designers, copywriters, and marketing managers, to align content strategies with broader marketing efforts. Staying Updated: Keeping up to date with industry trends, social media platform changes, and content marketing best practices to continuously improve strategies and stay ahead of the competition. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications would be a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in social media management, content strategy, and digital marketing. Proven track record of leadership and successful execution of social media campaigns in a corporate or agency setting. Experience managing and leading a team, demonstrating strong leadership and collaboration skills. Extensive experience in content creation and curation across various formats such as articles, blog posts, infographics, and videos. In-depth knowledge and understanding of all major social media platforms, their audiences, and best practices. Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive content strategies aligned with overall marketing objectives and target audience. Expertise in social media advertising, including budget management, audience targeting, and performance monitoring. Strong analytical skills, utilizing analytics tools to track and report on the performance of content and social media campaigns. Experience in community management, building and maintaining positive online communities, and managing brand reputation. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, including designers, copywriters, and marketing managers. Familiarity with SEO integration and optimization of content for search engines. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
