POSITION TITLE: JANITOR I
DEPARTMENT: FEDERAL CONTRACTS DEPARTMENT
REPORTS TO: JANITOR LEAD
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Janitor Lead, the Janitor I is responsible for the overall completion of maintenance and cleaning tasks assigned by Janitor Lead; completing training and certifications necessary to accomplish task to standard and complying with published procedures and regulations. Performs other duties assigned by Janitor Lead and Supervisor.
Facilities sites include:
PRIMARY: Yuma Proving Grounds (YPG) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP).
TRAINING PHASE: Commercial
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- General janitorial tasks, to include but not limited to dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Performs to standard all tasks listed in Task and Frequency Charts associated with assigned section.
- Floor Care, perform to standard Stripping, Waxing and Buffing of hard surface floors and Shampoo/Steam Clean Carpets.
- Conducts Preventive Care and Maintenance, to include but not limited to operator level maintenance of janitorial equipment, facility light bulb replacement and facility filter replacement.
- Maintain accountability and serviceability of assigned tools and equipment and report equipment discrepancies to Janitor Lead.
- Completes required and mandatory training necessary for compliance and task accomplishment.
- Correctly identifies and employs necessary chemicals for task accomplishment.
- Responsible for adhering to all published safety guidelines to include but not limited to posted procedures, equipment operating instructions, Safety Data Sheets and reporting safety concerns or violations to Janitor Lead and or leadership.
- Responsible for reporting the following to include but not limited to discrepancies, damage to equipment, damage to facilities, safety violations, and for adhering to CBP/YPG reporting procedures.

- Internal and Public ContactsThis position involves extensive interaction with peers, subordinates and supervisors, as well as high level interactions with community leaders, providers, the Arizona Department of Economic Security, federal government personnel and others.

- Physical DemandsThis position may require frequent bending, lifting, twisting, reaching over head and or standing for long periods of time. Staff must be able to walk up and down stairs and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Work EnvironmentAbility to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and graveyard shifts 8:00pm - 04:30am. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Must pass and maintain Background Investigation/Background Check mandated by Federal Contract requirements.
Must obtain immunizations mandated by Federal Contract requirements.
Must be able to obtain valid certifications for Agency compliance within 90-days of employment.
Pass background check inclusive of Excluded Provider List System (EPLS) and the Health and Human Services (HHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
DRUG-FREE WORK ENVIRONMENT

HIPAA

OSHA
Everyone has the right to a safe workplace. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 was passed to prevent workers from being seriously harmed at work or killed at work, and the law requires employers to provide their employees with working conditions that are free of known dangers. The Act created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which sets and enforces protective workplace safety and health standards which are maintained by the Agency. OSHA also provides information, training and assistance to workers and employers. Workers may file a complaint to have OSHA inspect their workplace if they believe that the Agency is not following OSHA standards or that there are serious hazards in the workplace.
