Disability Payroll Specialist •WFA Check Cutting Svcs

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To coordinate, direct and assign work activity to internal or disability payroll specialists; to assist with complex payroll actions; to train and manage internal or disability payroll specialists in daily processing payroll actions; to ensure the timely and accurate transmission of payroll data to ADP; and to assist with implementation and testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates, directs and assigns work activity to internal or disability payroll specialists.
  • Monitors operational procedures to process, balance, and distribute payroll.
  • Reviews integrity reports to ensure accuracy of maintenance in related system by payroll specialists.
  • Performs system testing for related system changes and enhancements.
  • Assists payroll specialists with payroll-related issues.
  • Assists the Finance department with reconciliation issues.
  • Audits state and local tax withholding requirements in related system.
  • Maintains payroll tax files and correspondence with state and local tax jurisdictions.
  • Trains new internal or disability payroll specialists.
  • Coordinates internal filing of payroll reports.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.
  • Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions.
  • Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. CPP certification preferred.

Experience:
Four (4) years payroll tax filing, payroll system, and time/attendance system experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include two (2) years of query/report writing experience. Experience in ADP, Report Smith and/or Crystal Reports strongly preferred.
