Position Summary Information

Job Goal

Serve as the primary representative of NICC for the geographic area surrounding the NICC Manchester Center. Provide innovative leadership to promote and provide NICC educational services that respond to community needs. Serve as the college's liaison with students, local school district(s), local government, and business and industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the NICC community representative, managing day-to-day operations, scheduling, promotion, and coordination of all NICC classes and services offered through the Center. Ensure the facility and equipment are well-maintained and secure.

Establish a Center culture of superior customer service through example, encouragement and direction to staff and faculty, and initiating corrective action, as needed. Maintain superior customer service as a competitive advantage.
Represent NICC in the areas of degree offerings, credit and non-degree educational and specialized training opportunities within the service area and bordering counties. Assist with the selection and scheduling of classes at the Center - credit and non-credit.
Coordinate and monitor all NICC-sponsored classes, including assistance with room scheduling, fee collection, and distribution/procurement of books and materials.
Supervise other Center personnel.

Collaborate with NICC in the development, evaluation and implementation of a marketing plan to include local advertising, brochure distribution, promotions, telephone contacts, direct mail, speaking to groups, visits to business/industry and schools, and follow-up of inquiries and applications.
Assist credit students in meeting their needs, e.g., assist with FAFSA completion, academic advising, class selection, placement testing, and registration.
Provide holistic advising and educational counseling for students through a variety of methods or tools based on the student preferred style. Provide individualized, holistic coaching and career facilitation services that lead to local employment.
Define and establish an academic success and degree completion plan for assigned student caseload.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. Experience in education, program supervision, and/or community relations strongly preferred. Master's Degree preferred.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to student success. Self-starter and exhibit an entrepreneurial work ethic with flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Excellent communication and leadership skills in relating to others and working with a diverse audience. Able to embrace innovation/change and work effectively with community members and colleagues. Excellent organizational skills. Highly organized with excellent customer service skills. Possess strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to multi-task effectively. Personal qualities of a strong work ethic, professional integrity, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and sense of humor. Equally effective with taking direction, working in teams, or working independently. Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge effectively. Team approach to office environment and job responsibilities. Demonstrated computer abilities including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Lumens is valuable. Must possess the ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other internal and external partners to provide quality, seamless student service and support.

Essential Functions

Serve as liaison between Center instructors and Campus Deans.
Collaborate with the Business and Community Services Contract training team to serve as liaison with business and industry in identification of training needs and scheduling of classes.
Maintain regular attendance at community board meetings and events and communicate priority information to BCS leadership.
Serve as liaison between high school and community college administration and high school relations.
Attend high school and community events to keep abreast of each organization.
Maintain knowledge of state (Senior Year Plus) and national (National Association of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships) policies and best practices regulating programming with high schools.
Identify and work with at-risk student populations and help to develop programs for engagement and re-engagement, especially at critical transitions in education and job placement.
Facilitate a successful transition of students moving from HS programs to NICC Credit and/or Non-Credit programs and through completion into the workforce.
Develop and implement center growth goals and action steps that increase center utilization and credit and non-credit offerings that meet the needs of the community.
Attend college meetings held at the local campus, and other sites when required.
Participate in professional development and training to enhance skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
