Director Integrated Strategic Communications YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as one of the top communications leaders for Bayer Pharma in the US. Leads the development of integrated communications to advance both Bayer and Pharmaceutical’s overall brand and reputation and business outcomes. Works on a variety of communications initiatives with peers to deliver on US business outcomes. Works at senior levels across product franchises, leading strategic communication programs and initiatives focused on delivering 90-day and long-term outcomes with a significant focus on marketed products. Partners closely with colleagues across U.S. Communications on the development and execution of key communications initiatives. Creates an integrated strategy that leverages a compelling narrative, executive visibility and thought leadership to generate positive content in paid, earned, shared and owned channels. Develops and executes an executive voice strategy for the President of Bayer US. Guides development of a strategic message platform that resonates with target audiences and advances the pharma narrative/reputation. Interfaces with country leaders and global communications colleagues to pull through relevant global strategies and plans. Serves as editor-in-chief of content/media planning for pharmaceutical communications. Develops and executes creative, strategic communications initiatives in close partnership with brand and marketing leadership to deliver on USPH’s outcome for marketed products. Collaborates seamlessly with US and global communications colleagues to ensure integrated and successful efforts focusing heavily on milestone communications, scientific data, disease awareness, medical meetings, issues management and more. Provides strategic counsel and partnership to the Head of Products and Pipelines and brand leaders to support positioning the business favorably across marketed and investigational products. Partners with Commercial, Medical, Legal and Regulatory colleagues to create effective communications programs aligned with business priorities. WHO YOU ARE The ideal candidate is someone who: Executes at a high level to support our fast moving and nimble organization and people focused culture; Works at senior levels across product franchises delivering in 90-day cycles and on both short- and long-term outcomes; A pleasure to work with, highly collaborative, inventive and a self-starter; Results focused, and regularly considers measurement to drive effectiveness of our communications programs; Manages ambiguity well, viewing it as an opportunity vs a challenge; Able to shift gears quickly and seamlessly as business and stakeholder needs require; Proactive, out of the box thinker; technologically savvy. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, public relations or similar field; Strong commercial focus and business acumen with proven ability to apply understanding of market dynamics into strategy; A minimum of 15 years of related professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or related organizations with a focus on external communications and reputation management; Experience in the development and implementation of integrated communications, strategic planning, internal (including executive) and external communications.
