responsibilities:

  • Analyze and modify product designs in collaboration with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability.

  • Develop designs, select, specify, and optimize equipment, fixtures, tooling, gaging, processes, and operations required for manufacturing.

  • Determine technical requirements to meet product specifications including volume, timetable, cost, and quality.

  • Monitor established processes through data collection for statistical analysis and continuous improvement purposes.

  • Evaluate manufacturing capability and provide technical support at the supply base.

  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for products, addressing technology transfer challenges from research to production.

  • Develop procedures for efficient mass production in collaboration with pilot-plant and production departments.

  • Conduct tests and measurements during production stages to ensure control over variables.

  • Service, troubleshoot, and resolve production process problems with existing equipment and processes.

  • Review field support needs and recommend tools and test equipment.

  • Determine maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.

  • Make recommendations regarding the acquisition and utilization of new technological equipment and materials.
Education and Experience:

  • Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Degree

  • 1-3 years of experience
