Position Overview

The role of Human Resource Manager supports and partners with leaders and their employees to administer all aspects of Human Resource functions.This key role is responsible for executing HR programs and processes that build Metro Storage's team and support the business plan.

Position Responsibilities

This position is responsible for functional areas of payroll, benefit administration, recruitment and onboarding, safety administration, talent management, employee relations, and employment law compliance.

Serves as the primary HR contact providing support and ensures effective delivery for all HR programs and services for employees; establishes, builds, and maintains strong relationships with supervisors and employees to ensure a partnership of transparency and commitment to employee development and engagement.
Reviews timesheets and approves payroll for assigned business group; processes payroll and ensures timely processing for all associated vendors. Maintains and updates HRM database to ensure data integrity and appropriate mapping to internal and external sources.

Performs benefits administration including communicating benefits information to employees; assists with the development of tools and resources to increase participation and utilization of benefit plans.
Leads and manages the recruitment effort for assigned business group including job posts and candidate sources, interviews, and candidate assessments.
Assists with implementing and monitoring the safety program and compliance with OSHA reporting guidelines; tracks, manages, and maintains contact with employee during worker's compensation claim; maintains contact with manager to update and ensure restrictions and accommodations are consistent and transparent.
Administers and assists with the compensation program to ensure compensation and staffing plan is within budget parameters.
Partners with supervisor regarding employee relations matters; ensures consistent and transparent management of issues; guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions; manages and tracks all employee disciplinary actions; responds to employee grievances and complaints.
Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge in various human resource functions including payroll, benefit administration, recruitment and onboarding, safety administration, talent management, employee relations, and employment law compliance.
Team player who can influence, lead, and drive projects.
Five years or more of HR Generalist / Manager experience.
Commitment to hybrid work plan which includes working two days per week in the Lake Forest, Illinois office.
Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field.
SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR required.
