Responsibilities: Design Creation: Develop detailed product designs based on senior designers’ renderings using solid modeling techniques. Component Development: Design and refine product components, ensuring practical and feasible solutions. Analysis: Use finite element analysis to check if designs meet performance standards. Project Management: Plan and manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Cost Management: Estimate initial project costs and track expenses throughout development. Team Collaboration: Lead meetings with various departments (marketing, engineering, production, etc.) to ensure product success. Tooling and Production: Review and suggest improvements for tooling designs and production methods. Work with engineers to optimize assembly processes. Technical Skills: Expertise in solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred). Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with plastics and sheet metal. Extensive experience in new product design and development. Knowledge of GD&T and experience with tools like FMEA, DOE, FEA, and 8D is a plus. Proficient in CAD methods and solid modeling, with a strong understanding of file management and spreadsheet features. Project Management: Proven experience managing projects and leading cross-functional meetings. Analytical Skills: Ability to apply advanced calculus, algebra, and statistical theories to solve problems. Communication: Effective communicator with the ability to interact with managers, engineers, and production supervisors, including senior management.
