Oakland, United States CLX Engineering Full time

Job Type

Full-time

Description

Join CLX Engineering where we are leaders in automation solutions and strive for excellence in every project. Our commitment to cutting-edge technology drives us forward. Are you ready to be part of our team?

We're on the lookout for a talented Integration Engineer II with expertise in process controls, especially Allen Bradley PLC coding, to join our team. In this role, you won't just be a cog in the machine - you'll be an integral part of a team of specialists, collaborating to craft and refine control systems that power baggage handling systems within a major US airport.

This salaried exempt position reports to the Manager, Controls Engineering. At this time, we are unable to pay relocation expenses and we cannot sponsor work authorization visas. And although this position is an individual contributor, leadership and excellent interpersonal skills are required.

Here's what you'll be diving into:

  • Designing and engineering innovative automated solutions.
  • Being the troubleshooter extraordinaire for electrical control systems and networks.
  • Providing hands-on coding and programming support on-site.
  • Sharing your expertise through training sessions for our up-and-coming talent.
  • Keeping the gears turning smoothly by maintaining and troubleshooting PLC systems.
  • Sometimes, this role entails physical demands, such as ascending slip or ship ladders, navigating obstacles, operating in low light, enduring varying temperatures, and occasionally maneuvering through confined spaces to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Championing our CLX Engineering Core Values and safety in everything we do.
Think you've got what it takes to thrive in this demanding and challenging work environment? Join us and let's move automation forward, together.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process automation, particularly with PLCs and on-site coding
  • Ability to grasp complex applications quickly.
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in instrumentation and conveyors.
  • Proficiency with at least one major PLC hardware platform (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work in industrial environments with exposure to heat, dirt, and noise. Remain stationary for up to 50% of a shift/work hours and while on job sites, must be able to walk airports and plants and remain standing for most of the shift. Must be able to navigate obstacles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools.
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Successful completion of a thorough background check
  • This position works in non-public spaces of an airport. The work environment may be hot or cold and could require standing or walking for hours. Candidates must be able to climb ladders and maneuver around the conveyor belts and equipment that support airport baggage handling systems.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD software
  • Equivalent combinations of training, experience, and education will be considered.
