Community Outreach Coordinator

Job Description

Under general supervision, responsible for coordinating educational, cultural, or recreational services to the community. This position requires networking across three partner hubs outside of Texas, typically via virtual meetings but may require travel.

This is a grant funded position for five (5) years.

Responsibilities

  1. Organizes and participates in community forums, health fairs, conferences and related training throughout the areas served by the Resource Center.
  2. Assists with setting up the framework and guidelines for community engagement initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational goals and best practices.
  3. Collaborates with various committees and groups involved in community outreach and engagement efforts, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and information sharing.
  4. Coordinates educational, cultural, or recreational services to the community.
  5. Provides education/training resources or assistance with community programs through calls, distribution of surveys, scheduling of appointments, or participation in meetings.
  6. Develops plans to evaluate and assess the impact and effectiveness of community outreach programs, using metrics to measure outcomes and inform future initiatives.
  7. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of activities and community outreach data for reporting/auditing purposes, and assists with monitoring program expenses.
  8. Assists with developing and managing grant opportunities aimed at supporting community initiatives and partnerships.
  9. Coordinates implementation of outreach efforts for designated region and maintains current point of contact database for stakeholders and other relevant parties.
  10. Serves as liaison between community programs and the Resource Center.
  11. Performs all other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of developing, organizing and managing action plans and projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex calendaring and project coordination.
  • Ability to take initiative and collaborate.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and credibility across teams located outside of Texas.
  • Knowledge of utilizing resources to collect, analyze, distribute, and display data.
EXPERIENCE
  • Two (2) years related experience is required. Four (4) years of experience is strongly preferred.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in public health or other related field is required. Master of Public Health is strongly preferred.
