Strategic Sourcing Specialist I

Position Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist works with the technology vendors to assist the organization in
selecting the goods and services at the lowest total cost. They partner with the Clayton team to understand the requirements and assist in the sourcing process. They manage the strategic vendor relationship from initial contact, selection, contract negotiation, performance management and closing/cancellation.

About The Team
The technical procurement team works together to provide full vendor tracking, sourcing and performance management support. They strive to manage risk and minimize costs to the organization while responding to procurement needs in an efficient manner. They provide ongoing reports and support to ensure that vendors are fulfilling their contractual obligations and performing as expected.

Primary Responsibilities
•Collaborates with Tech and Business team members on new projects/initiatives requiring
outside vendor services as assigned.
•Establishes and manages relationships with internal customers/stakeholders, fulfilling
their sourcing needs.
•Supports the RFx processes including - organizing request information, facilitating
documentation gathering and meeting/demo requirements, tracking and reporting on
results
•Assists in the development and review of statements of work advising business unit
representatives and technology representatives on potential adds or improved clarity.
•Collaborates with project team to align project costs.
•Fulfills daily technology procurement requests and issues POs as needed.
•Obtains quotes, comparing and negotiating pricing.
•Consults with the sourcing manager and/or legal as needed to initiate, review or negotiate
contracts (NDAs/MSAs/EULAs).
•Manages POs: Reviews for coding, pricing and information accuracy. Informs customers
of PO issuance and any other details regarding orders. Administrates change requests and
closes out POs once completed.
•Follows all required Techsourcing policies and procedures.

•Ability to help the customer or vendor during the procurement process, quickly resolving
issues, completing action items or answering questions.
•With assistance able to review contracts terms, redline changes, and identify potential
risks.
•Able to identify potential future/hidden costs and develop the agreements to mitigate
them. Assists in identifying potential savings utilizing benchmarks and industry
knowledge.
•Able to research, gather and analyze data that ensures the best negotiated value on a
contract.
•Able to facilitate the development of a scope of work, working closely with the business
analysts and stakeholders to ensure all information is concise, clear and easily
understood.
•Able to negotiate red lines, terms, conditions and pricing to optimize value and mitigate
risks.
•Knowledgeable in gathering the appropriate data to issue a purchase order, ensuring
invoices identify the appropriate approver and billed to the correct G/L and ensure it can
be tracked through to completion.
•Properly tracks and stores documentation related to Third Party Risk Management and
the RF(x) process.
•Defines, documents and trains the organization on sourcing standards, processes and
tools.
•Understands the procurement life cycle process.
