Job Summary and Qualifications

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals

What you will do in this role:

  • You will conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patients speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation. You will administer objective tests to assess patients communication assets and liabilities.
  • You will structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
  • You will evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress.
  • You will document progress in patients chart. You will complete notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication.
  • You will consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Current California License as a Speech language Pathologist by the Speech Language Pathology Board of California or an applicant for licensure.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider Course.
  • Completion of an entry level masters curriculum of professional education in speech language pathology, accredited by the American Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology and approved by the Speech Language Pathology Board of California or an education considered by the Board to be equivalent.
  • One (1) year minimum of full-time equivalent or more prior experience. Must have completed the Clinical Fellowship Year/Required Professional Experience (CFY/RPE)
