Founded in 1979, BME is a leading Industrial and Commercial Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing contractor. We serve top HVAC clients across Southwest Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Central Tennessee. Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role will be primarily based in Harrison, Ohio with occasional travel required to Burlington, Ky. The pay scale for this position is between $60 to $80K annually.

Responsibilities:

Working directly with the Director of Finance and the finance team, you will play a key role in establishing and executing financial and accounting operations. Job responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring accurate financial activity and reporting for assigned entities.
  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinating and performing key aspects of the monthly financial closing process.
  • Maintaining chart of accounts, work papers and other financial documentation.
  • Preparing various financial reports and documenting inter-company activity.
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
  • Maintaining cash accounts activity, performing bank reconciliations, and supporting cash forecasting.
  • Maintaining fixed asset and lease schedules.
  • Collaborating with Operations Project Managers to ensure accurate project reporting and timely invoicing.
  • Supporting other key financial functions, such as A/R and A/P, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Candidate Attributes
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related subject.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
  • Strong ability to communicate accounting and financial information into common language.
  • Accounting experience in a complex, multi-entity environment is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and teamwork.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
