Position Description

Title: Manufacturing Engineer I

Department: Manufacturing Engineering

Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Denton, TX

Position Summary

This entry level position involves learning the manufacturing engineering processes from design and support operations on new and existing gas and arc equipment products. Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering group, job tasks will involve tooling design, plant layouts, root cause analysis, and system support on new products (e.g. gas cutting and welding torches, regulators, flow meters, mixers, mig guns, air carbon arc torches, etc.), modification of tooling for existing products, with system and support changes from routings to Bill of Materials.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work with product line management, Product Engineering, Purchasing, Supervisors, and Managers in daily tasks.
  • Experience developing plans and to meet required launch dates of new products.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD design, Pro/E or Solidworks preferred.
  • JDE experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical tool design, layouts, analysis and existing product improvement input to business strategy and planning meetings.
  • Perform all aspects of mechanical tool design and engineering required for new and existing processes.
Authority

Position has entry level design related to arc and gas equipment set-up of product, tooling design and plant layout.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with JDE Next a plus.
  • Plant Layout using CAD required.
  • Experience in mechanical tool design - gas and arc welding and cutting equipment experience a plus.


Relationships and Contacts:

Candidate will primarily interface with Project Managers, Production, and Quality personnel, Plant Supervisors, Sustaining Engineering.
