Overview:

Working as a Senior Accountant at Memorial Health you will be working under the general direction of leadership supporting the general ledger application by maintaining various detailed financial reconciliations and data, including quarterly benchmark reporting for applicable affiliates. In addition, provide assistance in other Disbursement related projects, as necessary. Ensure that established departmental deadlines are met as well as provide assistance and support to attain departmental goals and objectives. **This is a hybrid position where a mix of onsite and remote work is expected**

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance, or business related field. MBA and/or CPA preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the healthcare setting.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must possess strong computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office suite applications.
  • Must be able to work in a fast changing environment.
  • Possess good analytical skills and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP presentation.
  • Possess strong knowledge of payroll procedures and general ledger entries.
  • Must possess ability to compile data, analyze and develop recommendations along with clear presentation of analysis.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and human relations skills.
  • Understands scope of responsibilities and completes tasks, follow-up, research and projects by established due dates with little prompting.


Responsibilities:
  1. Assists in analyzing and reconciling all general ledger accounts and related schedules in accordance with GAAP and MHS policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain relationships with all levels of leadership to gain knowledge necessary to create and make recommendations on compare groups.
  3. Responsible for gathering all relevant information for reporting.
  4. Analyze all source documents and feedback from department to validate reasonableness.
  5. Responsible for dissemination of benchmarking results to all levels of leadership.
  6. Preparation of quarterly slides provided to MMC Board of Directors.
  7. Assist department directors/managers and Time & Attendance Functional Service Administrator(s)(TA FSA) in understanding and applying various policies and guidelines in API.

  3. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data and patient clinical and financial information.
