SSUSA Job #1083: iNFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGER Job Description INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGER The Project Manager will have an in-depth understanding of technology infrastructure and enterprise systems design, build-out, and go-live. This person will be responsible for project management activities that advance the Institutes technology projects. This includes aligning with strategic programs and coordinating among a wide range of cross-functional internal and external partners to ensure projects are within scope and on schedule, with support from the project teams. Essential Functions Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders. Develop and present comprehensive technical solutions to customers. Oversee and, at times, prepare cost estimates at various stages. Initiate and coordinate design efforts and engineering processes. Communicate effectively, both written and verbal; facilitate across organizational boundaries and levels; resolve conflicts professionally. Maintain essential project documentation such as Project Plans, Charters, Design documents, Risk logs, Status reports, Communication Plans. Serve as a hands-on technical and business leader/mentor for engineering teams responsible for network and system design, implementation, support, and maintenance. Develop and monitor compliance with project runbooks, engineering policies, procedures, and practices. Manage design, deployment, and operational turnover of new network infrastructure and enterprise systems. Verify bills of materials (BOM), request proposals (RFP), supervise pilots and proofs of concept (POC), and create design implementation plans considering business needs, ISMS compliance, policies, procedures, and change management, within budget. Experience 8+ years of direct experience in areas such as Microsoft Windows and Active Directory, Linux, VMware vSphere, data center infrastructure, network implementations (WAN and LAN), website deployments, data centers, or structured cabling. Certifications such as PMP, CSM, CCNP, CCND, CCNA, CCDA, MCSA are desirable. Proven track record of delivering mission-critical programs on time, within budget, and meeting quality and safety standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in contract negotiation and administration. Experience building and leading teams. Skills in assessing, coaching, and mentoring team members. Strong organizational, time management, and coordination skills across disciplines.
