SSUSA Job #1107: SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Job Description SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR One of our national clients with offices in NYC is seeking a Senior Enterprise Systems Administrator for their company that provides information and services. The Senior Enterprise Systems Administrator is responsible for operating secure computing platforms and enterprise applications in the company's private cloud. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining the companys enterprise systems, Linux and Windows servers, and Windows networks. The role involves deploying, installing, upgrading, and continuously improving the operating environment, ensuring ongoing reliability, performance, and support of the IT infrastructure. This includes monitoring environments, responding to incidents and problems, and planning for growth. The role also responds to security breaches, malware infections, and cyber-security threats, implementing and supporting security controls to protect data and infrastructure. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Configure, maintain, monitor, upgrade, and support VMWare private cloud environments. Configure, maintain, monitor, upgrade, and support Linux and Windows virtual servers, including expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Replication, SMB, DFSR, etc. Maintain and support the network and cyber-security infrastructure. Manage the Disaster Recovery plan, ensuring RPO and RTO are achieved, with scheduled tape backups. Monitor database performance and recommend improvements. Administer storage devices. Support enterprise-wide projects and initiatives. Recommend improvements to enhance system security, reliability, and performance. Provide infrastructure support for complex systems and applications, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility. Support enterprise applications such as Alfresco, Confluence, SharePoint, and custom web applications. MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS: Certifications in VMWare, Microsoft Windows, and Cisco Systems are desirable. 8+ years of experience deploying, administering, and upgrading Windows and Linux servers in large environments (>200 servers). 8+ years of experience maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure. 8+ years of experience with Windows 20XX OS deployment and management. 8+ years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory deployment and management. 8+ years of experience with VMWare ESXi and vSphere environments. 5+ years of experience with VMWare Horizon View cloud desktop environment. 3+ years of experience maintaining VMWare Horizon View environments. 2+ years of experience administering public cloud environments. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Leadership skills in project coordination. Expertise in VMware clustering, configuration, and management. Deep understanding of network security and access control. Strong knowledge of network routing and switching protocols. Excellent TCP/IP knowledge, including packet analysis. Experience with Cisco switches and routers, Pure storage systems, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Arista switches. Security analysis skills, including SIEM and Vulnerability Management. Creative problem-solving abilities. Self-starter attitude with a desire to expand infrastructure knowledge.
