Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement rapid prototyping processes and techniques to support product development and innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to understand and translate design requirements into functional prototypes.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create 3D models and generate design files for rapid prototyping.
- Operate and maintain rapid prototyping equipment, such as 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, and other additive or subtractive manufacturing technologies.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to determine the most suitable rapid prototyping methods for different product designs.
- Optimize and iterate on prototype designs based on feedback, performance testing, and design improvements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to source materials and components for prototyping.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in rapid prototyping technologies and techniques.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members involved in the rapid prototyping process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to rapid prototyping equipment, processes, and materials.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in rapid prototyping, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD design software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, GMP, R&D, proven design, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Should be local to the central Indiana area.
- Familiarity with welding practices, electronics, pneumatics, and fluid dynamics.
- Experience operating and maintaining rapid prototyping equipment, such as 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser cutters.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and precision.
- Ability to adapt to changing project priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of materials and their properties used in rapid prototyping.
