About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician to join our team in Manual Wheelchair Development. As a key member of our design engineering team, you will play a critical role in setting up test equipment, creating fixtures, testing products, and documenting results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Product Development and Sustaining Engineering teams in the design and development of new components and systems.
  • Execute verification testing required for new product development or sustaining engineering changes, including protocol generation, test setup, execution, and report generation.
  • Create engineering documentation, including test protocols and test reports.
  • Support documentation and maintenance of test equipment and fixtures, ensuring they are in good working order and adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Build 3D models and drawings of test fixtures in SolidWorks and fabricate test fixtures as needed.
  • Assist engineers with drafting/drawing, prototyping, first article inspections, and documentation as required.
  • Complete assigned tasks and communicate professionally and effectively with various levels of the Permobil team.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with 3D-modelling tools, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Familiarity with operation of hand tools and equipment.
  • Interest in mechanical systems design, fabrication, maintenance, and operation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner, both verbally and in written format. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other communication tools.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment and testing procedures and familiarity with industry standards and regulations is preferred.
