We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking a senior estimator- transit and rail - to join our established and growing team in New York.

You'll be responsible for:

* Under minimal supervision, performs complex duties utilizing advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and methods.

* Is responsible for the overall development of construction projects estimates working in collaboration with the design and construction groups.

* Prepares estimates with the proper level of detail for all stages of design including conceptual, schematic design, design development and construction documents.

* Reviews design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, generates acceptable value engineering ideas.

* Reviews subcontractor and supplier proposals for conformity to scope of work requirements.

* Participates in the preparation of bidder's scopes of work, bid tabulations and proposals.

* Is familiar with current labor and material pricing, including unions and union agreements maintain a historic database by project and system type.

* Establishes good working relationships with trade subcontractors.

You'll need to have:

* BA/BS plus relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

* New York/New Jersey specific experience.

* Demonstrated experience in heavy civil construction projects.

* Experience in estimating mass excavation and underground construction projects.

* Experience in constructability reviews of heavy civil and transit related projects.

* Demonstrated experience with commercialized estimating programs.

* Evidence of good potential growth shown by satisfactory performance in past positions

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Computer literacy.

* Potential to perform in a lead capacity.

You'll also have:

* NYCT, LIRR, MNRR, NYCT, Amtrak experience preferred.
