About Us: Forest Electric NY is a leading single-source commercial electrical construction and telecommunications services supplier for the New York metropolitan area. Our company has expertise in data center infrastructure, structured cabling, and electrical system design/build, installation, and maintenance.

Job Summary: The data/telecom, AV & security senior estimator will play a key role in meeting our company's objectives and goals by preparing accurate and timely budgets and estimates for assigned commercial telecommunications, low voltage, AV, security, sound masking, voice, and data communications projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare quantity take-offs of low voltage, sound masking, AV, and security systems.
* Prepare detailed estimates, including assigning material and labor values to take-offs.
* Acquire vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment, and systems.
* Partner with other estimators and team members to ensure a complete scope of work is defined and pricing review.
* Evaluate and assist with subcontractor and vendor scope and pricing review.
* Prepare scope letters and proposals.
* Prepare and manage communications internally and with general contractors or construction managers for assigned projects.
* Participate in walk-throughs, project kick-off, and turn-over meetings.

Requirements:

* At least ten (10+) years of experience in estimating electrical power, lighting, and low voltage electrical systems.
* Must possess a thorough understanding of electrical design documents in various stages of design completion.
* Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment and independently.
* Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Compensation Range: $120,000 - $160,000
