Job Summary

The Service Writer is the primary customer contact at the branch, promoting quality service and supporting business growth.

This role involves managing customer relationships, analyzing customer needs, and coordinating repair orders and schedules to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers by phone or at the branch, fostering positive relationships.
  • Assess customer needs, gather necessary information, and initiate work orders; provide quotes, manage claims, develop repair plans, schedule work, and update customers on repair progress.
  • Create detailed work orders, including diagnostic plans, quotes, and repair schedules, estimating repair duration based on parts and labor availability; review plans with the Service Supervisor or Team Lead before discussing with customers.
  • Collaborate with the Service Supervisor or Team Lead to assign job schedules.
  • Address customer concerns about warranties and explain repair charges clearly.
  • Track key performance indicators for the workshop, such as labor productivity and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills, with experience in service-oriented roles preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build positive relationships with customers.
  • Proficiency in handling work orders and repair scheduling.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with workshop operations, warranty processes, and performance tracking is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a service writer or similar role in automotive or industrial settings is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of basic repair processes and customer service best practices.
