Accreditation Specialist

The Accreditation Specialist assists in the planning, organization, direction, and implementation of all services under the realm of The Joint Commission. The Accreditation Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and technical services for the Accreditation Services Department. This includes working with complex accreditation programs such as the Focused Standards Assessment, Application for Survey and response submissions to The Joint Commission, Joint Commission Resources, and the Office of Quality Monitoring. The Accreditation Specialist assists in the planning, organization, direction, and implementation of all services under the realm of Joint Commission. Assists in the coordination of Joint Commission continuous survey readiness and actual survey activities. May be asked to assist with State or Federal surveys as needed. This individual has knowledge of The Joint Commission standards to include Hospital, Critical Access, Behavioral Health, and Home Care. The Accreditation Specialist communicates regularly with the System Director of Accreditation Services regarding any identified issues of concern regarding non-compliance and ensures appropriate follow-up.

Bachelor's Degree
Experience
Four years of related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.

*NONE REQUIRED
Qualifications
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
*Four years previous experience with The Joint Commission survey process in healthcare environment.
*Must be able to read and comprehend accreditation manuals as well as CMS and NFPA requirements.
*Must have good project management skills with attention to details and timely project completion or follow up.
*Professional, positive, flexible attitude.
*Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Prefer Microsoft products, including Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher, SharePoint. Must be proficient in navigating Electronic Health Record.
*Strong customer service skills.
