Job Description: Warehouse Manager

Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager plans, organizes, and oversees efficient performance and quality production of the Warehouse Associates, Warehouse Helpers, and Material Handlers. In addition, the Warehouse Manager assigns work, ensures that training needs are met and handles all administrative issues. This position oversees the receipt, processing, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of materials and parts.

Essential Job functions

Independently and routinely assigns and supervises work and trains subordinates.

Maintains documentation in accordance with Company policies and procedures (i.e., Attendance and Performance Records)

Trains and evaluates employees assigned to his/her department to ensure performance to goals and that quality standards are met.

Receives inquiries and/or complaints from employees, customers, and dealers, and responds accordingly to promote positive relationships.

Inspects work performed to ensure that quality standards as established by the Company are being met.

Works cooperatively with other departments to accomplish tasks.

Monitors and controls inventory.

Actively maintains a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.

Ensures quality expectations are being met with processes adhered.

Actively looking for opportunities to save on costs and expenses.

Operates all plant equipment once certified by the employer to do so.

And all tasks as assigned.

The successful candidate for this position will share the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Minimum of 2 years shipping/receiving experience in a distribution center environment required *2 years' experience with household goods/ moving industry preferred.

Ability to direct staff and manage labor productivity.

Material handling equipment knowledge and the ability to operate a forklift.

Should understand computerized asset management systems, RF scanners, carrier shipping systems.

Should have the ability to work in a diversified environment.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Understand job costing and expense control.

General Requirements & Expectations:

Execution and adherence to Unigroup agency compliance and policy guidelines. All employees must pass a background check upon being hired.

All employees will be put into our random drug testing program during their tenure at Schroeder Moving Systems.

Need to have the strength and stamina to repeatedly lift and move at least 75 lbs. throughout each day.

Good work ethic and a positive, professional attitude.

High-school diploma or GED.

Communication skills to engage professionally both verbally and in-writing in English.

Minimum of 21 years old.
