Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with proven leadership skills. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial activities, and providing support and mentorship to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounting department

Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements

Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns

Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions

Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets

Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations

Mentor and develop accounting staff, providing training and support as needed

Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives

Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and practices

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

CPA certification preferred

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Effective communication and leadership skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
