Job Description:

Bob's Steak and Chop House Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join the team of the 15th Restaurant location in the heart of Oklahoma City. This team member will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our restaurant, including the selection, development and performance management of employees in support of the General Manager. In addition, they oversee the inventory and ordering of food and supplies, optimize profits and ensure that guests are satisfied with their superior dining experience.

Bobs Steak & Chop House specializes in serving big, flavorful steaks that are hand-selected from the top two percent of USDA prime beef along with Texas-sized portions of our award-winning sides. Mouth-watering, legendary seafood and cuts of meat are absolutely delicious as we use homemade and local ingredients to enhance the flavor of our signature menu items. When it comes to Wine, each Bobs carries a large selection usually 300 to 500 wines beyond our core list of favorites. In-house wine buyers select wines from all over the world to satisfy local clientele and regulars at each of our locations. Because of this, there is not a corporate written list which allows each Bobs to offer their own, unique wine inventories. Each Bobs utilizes climate-controlled wine cellars and features Wine of the Month for our guests to try. While the industry standard for wine by the glass has gone from 6 ounces to down to 5 ounces, Bobs pours 8 ounces.

Responsibilities:
  • To follow, enforce, comply and adhere to all Bobs Steak & Chop House Rules, policies, procedures, standards, and recipes at all times.
  • Responsible for assigned shift, assisting in overall management
  • Supervise and coordinate assigned shift.
  • Assist in overall supervision of the department as outlined in manager's job description.
  • Check staff punctuality.
  • Complete environmental checklist for dining room (Ensure music levels and lighting at proper levels).
  • Spot check liquor pars.

  • Hold pre-meal meetings.
  • Follow up on established training steps.
  • Handle guest comments and complaints.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Stay on the floor during peak hours.
  • Communicate with guests and receive feedback.
  • Observe, teach, and correct staff's service.
  • Monitor each guest experience.
  • Examine food preparation.
  • Examine beverage presentation.
  • Administrative responsibilities.
  • Assist manager in scheduling, forecast weekly/monthly, completing weekly payroll
  • Participate in interviewing new employees.
  • Prepare maintenance requests and follow-up.
  • Cost control.
  • Monitor food and liquor requisitions.
  • Monitor food waste.
  • Monitor labor and payroll costs.
  • Check bar controls, shot glass use, red lining, bottles empty.
Qualifications:
  • Candidate is required to have at least 1 year restaurant management experience. Upscale steak house management experience is strongly preferred however other fine dining and/or hotel food & beverage leadership experience will be considered.
  • Candidate must have proven leadership skills and must be able to train, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to teach employees importance of, and how to interact with internal/external guests and courteously solve internal requests.
  • Ability to train a staff to produce high volumes of work while maintaining quality per Omni and Bobs standards.
  • Ability to set priorities for the Bobs team and provide feedback to others that enhances performance.
  • Prior experience managing schedules, payroll, service recovery and associate relations matters required.
  • Previous cash handling experience required.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and work in fast paced environment.
  • Must be proficient with computers.
  • Expected to have and maintain all appropriate certifications to serve and sell food and alcoholic beverages according to Oklahoma City and Oklahoma state standards.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Move, bend, push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and place items up to 40 lbs without assistance.
  • Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires repetitive motion, including frequent bending, twisting and extending arms overhead.
