Company Description:
CorMedix Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapeutic products for the prevention and treatment of life-threatening conditions and diseases. The Company is focused on developing its lead product DefenCath®, a novel, non-antibiotic antimicrobial solution designed to prevent costly and life-threatening bloodstream infections associated with the use of central venous catheters in patients undergoing chronic hemodialysis. DefenCath has been designated by FDA as Fast Track and as a Qualified Infectious Disease Product (QIDP), and the original New Drug Application (NDA) received priority review in recognition of its potential to address an unmet medical need. DefenCath was approved by the FDA on November 15, 2023 and the Company has indicated an estimated initial launch in 1Q 2024. CorMedix also intends to develop DefenCath as a catheter lock solution for use in other patient populations, and the Company is working with top-tier researchers to develop taurolidine-based therapies for rare pediatric cancers.
POSITION:
Assist the Accounting Manager with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures are followed and communicate exceptions to management.
Responsible for monthly/yearly closing activities.
Prepare the consolidated financial statements.
Oversee the preparation of month-end journal entries.
Respond to requests from external auditors for the financial statement audit and SOX compliance.
Perform monthly reconciliation of open purchase orders.
Prepare data used in footnotes, supporting schedules and analysis for quarterly and annual SEC filings.
Oversee the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions.
Perform a monthly search for unrecorded liabilities.
Record the monthly activity for the subsidiary companies.
Prepare variance analysis with explanations of significant variances.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comprehensive knowledge of month/year end closings
Understanding of financial statement preparation
Experience in SOX documentation and compliance
Understanding of compliance regarding accounting and financial activities with GAAP and corporate internal controls
Experience in developing and implementing more efficient accounting procedures
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive knowledge of Excel
Knowledge of ERP systems (Priority ERP system a plus)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science: Accounting
CPA
Experience at a publicly traded company
Pharma industry experience a plus
