The 1,054-room Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is the newest luxury hotel in the City of Boston, and the most significant hotel project in the city for the last forty years. The property features seven outlets for drinking and dining, a signature spa, fitness center, and rooftop pool. It boasts more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and caters to the most discerning clientele.
Job Description:The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is located in the center of the bustling Seaport District. The AAA Four Diamond rated hotel boasts 1,054 finely appointed guestrooms with 52 suites, seven delectable dining experiences, a scenic rooftop pool, a luxury Breve Spa, and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space allowing to provide each guest a unique and memorable experience. The Omni Boston at the Seaport Hotel is seeking a proven hospitality leader to be our next Hotel Manager. The role of the Hotel Manager is to ensure that the total operation of the hotel is maintained on a daily basis and the needs of our owners, employees and customers are met and/or exceeded.
Responsibilities:- Position requires a minimum of five years progressive Senior Leadership experience, with at least two of these years in an Executive Committee position.
- Must have experience in all areas of Hotel Operations, to include Rooms, Engineering and Food & Beverage, with a strong knowledge and experience in Food & Beveragepreferably in an upscale hotel and proven track record of marketing Restaurants and Bars.
- Union experience is a must.
- Exceptional management skills with a proven track record in mentoring/leading a successful team.
- Ability to budget and forecast productivity and direct expenses.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors, community, and organizations.
- Excellent technical skills to include MS Office, PMS system Opera, Delphi, and Oracle
- Mastery level understanding of forecasting, scheduling, payroll, associate relation matters, service recovery, budgeting, managing inventories, cost control, daily reviews and analysis of operating results required.
- Candidate must have proven leadership skills and must be able to delegate, effectively train, develop, and motivate staff. Ability to effectively mentor key leadership positions, including department heads and assistant department heads.
- Able to set priorities for the Rooms and Food & Beverage leadership teams and provide feedback to others that enhances performance.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on all assigned items, including guest requests and questions.
- Ability to work well under pressure, think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
- Highly developed customer service skills; possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Daily Duties:
- Hands on review of the total operation
- Daily operating review meeting with division heads, key department heads
- Telephone communications -
- Departmental follow-up items
- Guest response - various
- Human Resources personnel issues - discussion of options/needs assessment
- Community responsibilities - Symphony, City, Convention Bureau, Advisory Boards role, charitable requests, etc.
- Lunch - with division/department head, customer or with employees
- Administration: purchase order, invoice review and approval. Daily payroll review. DBS.
Weekly Duties:
- Payroll planning and review/approval.
- Department head update meeting discussing specific business needs for the coming week and interdepartmental communications and problem solving.
- Group rooms pre-sell review and rooms merchandising decisions and goal setting. Risk assessment.
- Guest letter and response card review, operations impact and response.
- Short term financial outlook - payroll control, cash distributions, receivables, payables, revenue position against plan.
- Divisional progress review. Rooms impact and Engineering concerns.
- Various employee meetings, OST, quality teams.
- Pre-convention and meeting planner receptions, introductions.
Monthly Duties:
- Ownership marketing review, preparation and presentation.
- Omni Ambassadors meeting and follow-up.
Quarterly Duties:
- Ownership update meetings.
- Omni Management Meetings.
- Annual Planning.
- Marketing
- Financial Management, etc.
- Annual budget development.
- Marketing plan.
- Business plan development.
- Delivery of 5-Diamond service standards such as:
- Uniformed with name badges, in harmony with the theme of the property.
- Knowledgeable about property and surrounding areas.
- Takes responsibility for guests inquiries and problems.
