Housing Assistance is seeking a dynamic & passionate Director ofCommunity Engagement to join our team. This role will develop &implement strategies to engage residents & stakeholders, buildrelationships with local organizations, & represent Housing Assistanceat various events. They will manage & grow our volunteer program,including recruitment, training, & retention, & coordinate large-scalevolunteer activities. Essential Functions Community Engagement Develop & implementcommunity engagement strategies to involve residents, stakeholders, &potential beneficiaries in Housing Assistance?s mission & programs.Establish & cultivate relationships with local community groups,nonprofits, & grassroots organizations to build support & exp& theorganization\'s outreach. Represent the organization at communityevents, meetings, & conferences, promoting awareness of our mission,services & opportunities for engagement. Oversee & coordinatevolunteer lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, training,scheduling, engagement, retention/post engagement & reporting.Collaborate with Housing Assistance staff to create meaningful volunteeropportunities across the organization. Plan & manage large scalevolunteer activities including Big Fix events throughout the year.Implement recognition programs to appreciate & retain volunteers, suchas awards, events, & thank-you notes. Conduct regular evaluations togather feedback & improve the volunteer experience. Housing AdvocacyCoordinate & manage regular schedule of educational training forresidents on how to advocate & speak up for housing in their town.Coordinate & support advocacy outreach & organizing efforts leading upto town meetings in the fall & spring. Stay updated on local housingpolicies, regulations, & best practices to inform the agency\'s advocacyefforts. General Responsibilities: Attend Board meetings as requested,serve on pertinent committees & participate in community & social eventsthat promote Housing Assistance & cultivate relationships. Establish &maintain positive working relationships with CEO\'s Staff, otheradministrators & staff. Complete duties & responsibilities in compliancewith Housing Assistance Corp standards, policies & guidelines. Liaisewith other departments. Required Qualifications, Education, & ExperienceBachelor\'s degree in communications, public relations, communitydevelopment or a related field. Proven experience (5+ years) incommunity engagement, volunteer management, or a similar role within anonprofit organization. Excellent relationship-building skills with theability to engage & collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Exceptionalcommunication skills, including public speaking & presentation skills.Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail. Skilled atcoordinating events & meetings. Demonstrated experience in organizing,conceptualizing, & prioritizing objectives & managing a high-volumeworkflow office. Proficiency with use of e-mail, word processing,spreadsheet, database, & presentation software & use of the Internet.Preferred Qualifications Experience in community organizing,facilitation, & engagement strategies. Understanding of affordablehousing programs & community development principles. Knowledge of localgovernment processes, policies, & decision-making structures.
