Senior Controls Engineer

Overview

The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all controls equipment is properly maintained and functioning to current safety standards. This role involves creating plans for engineering projects, managing capital engineering projects, specifying equipment, managing physical installation, and providing technical support to plant maintenance groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical and electrical projects to support site goals
  • Manage capital engineering projects within defined budget and schedule
  • Manage outside vendors and suppliers
  • Provide technical support to plant maintenance groups
  • Draft and manage all engineering drawings
  • Participate in Kaizen events and identify areas of improvement
  • Some travel may be required to support projects at other plants or perform equipment acceptance testing at vendor facilities (less than 10%)

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years overall manufacturing experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of advanced machine control concepts and programming of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
  • Proven project management skills and PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS, RSLogix, Siemens TIA Portal) required.
