Job Description:
This job is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives and/or processes aligned to the bank's priorities within a functional area and/or business. Key responsibilities include defining, developing, executing, monitoring, and/or refining strategic initiatives and/or processes including management of strategic reviews by senior leadership in close collaboration with key stakeholders and internal partners.

The Enterprise Operational Excellence team engages with senior leaders across Bank of America to identify, quantify, and address opportunities for strategic transformation and continuous improvement. The team works directly with the front line units and control functions on their highest priorities, helping to eliminate non-value-added or duplicative work, simplify complex, costly processes, improve the client experience, reduce risk, and improve efficiency to drive Responsible Growth.

The OpEx Process Engineer provides transformational leadership and hands on analysis for radical reengineering, dissecting process design and performance, identifying improvements for both individual functions and processes as well as connected processes that are part of larger end-to-end process across functions and/or lines of business. The Process Engineer leverages process management techniques such as Six Sigma, LEAN, Kaizen, and Business Process Reengineering and works with cross functional teams to collect and analyze people, process, financial, and technology data and develop and present recommended improvements to executive leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the process for building and/or executing business initiatives and/or processes, while partnering with stakeholders and partners
  • Solves complex problems and delivers on business initiatives and processes by applying subject matter expertise and technical knowledge of the business
  • Engages with key stakeholders, partners, and business leadership to deliver on business objectives, while providing updates and executive level presentations on strategic business initiatives
  • Approves and oversees the development of strategic and tactical plans to drive progress towards business goals and objectives
  • Assist the OpEx leadership team to scope, organize and execute the work, ensuring process management techniques and tools are applied where needed
  • Partner with the frontline units and control functions to identify, source, and validate needed data
  • Manage working teams and ensure project deliverables are created throughout scope, assess, design and recommend phases of work and ensure the work is of the highest quality
  • Identify opportunities to leverage OpEx/process engineering tools, specialized skills and capabilities, and teach partners how to use these techniques on their own
  • Prepare, organize, and lead working sessions with business leaders and subject matter experts (e.g, value stream mapping, cycle time analysis, root cause analysis, FMEA, design sessions, etc.)
  • Lead the work and team to develop the key from-to changes, metrics and assumptions that drive the business case and implementation plan

Required Qualifications:
  • 5 year Six Sigma, LEAN, Kaizen, and Business Process Reengineering Experience
  • Proficiency with MS PowerPoint and Excel as well as mapping tools Visio/ARIS
  • Problem solver who can successfully manage multiple work efforts through ambiguity
  • Proven track record in working with senior executives and subject matter experts
  • Proactive and "no surprises" approach in communicating
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to make sense of information across multiple work streams to see the "big picture" and key insights/decision points
  • Strong partnership, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills, including presentation materials and communicating to senior stakeholders
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as leading or participating in a cross-functional team environment
  • Passion for driving change, building a culture of continuous improvement, and driving collaboration
