Here's how a(n) Health, Safety and Environment Manager for our California Buildings office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
* Develops and assists with implementation of project HSE and regulatory requirements.
* Identifies, evaluates, develops, and delivers project-specific HSE training. Assists with the development of project training. Assists with the development of district specific training.
* Reviews project training objectives and project trend action plans. Identifies industry statistics and hazards and communicates any expected/anticipated changes to project teams.
* Verifies that hazard identification tools are in place on the project(s) and evaluates areas for process improvement.
* Oversees and conducts formal HSE inspections and audits.
* Provides guidance and coaching to project teams and direct reports on audit requirements.
* Evaluates and verifies that appropriate PPE is being used on project sites. Develops specialized PPE training as required.
* Develops and evaluates effectiveness of project emergency response plan and executes crisis communication plan for project(s).
* Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per the program.
* Participates in the investigation process as per the incident investigation matrix and determines when external resources are required.
* Monitors work injury and ensures modified work is followed and properly documented.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in OH&S or a related discipline.
* ASP certificate preferred (US).
* 9 years of experience in a related industry, with direct experience in HSE.
* 4 years of experience in a supervisory role.
* Strong knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
* Strong ability to coach and mentor others.
* Expert knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation related to projects/area.
* Ability to coach and mentor others on HSE processes.
* Strong communication and presentation skills on HSE topics to senior managers and projects.

The salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $170,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
