POSITION SUMMARY

Entry level position to lead into Factory Order Technician II and other roles in Engineering as experience is gained. Skill set and producing production drawings for fabrication, ensuring a quality, error-free, and on-time product that is profitable to the company while meeting internal and external customer expectations.

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently generate high quality production documents that are complete and accurate using AutoCAD, Pref, EEP or other tools as applicable.
  • Reputation of and promote high quality in your daily responsibilities.
  • Adhere and promote established SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) that are related to the Engineering Department and proactively offer suggestions for improvements.
  • Adhere to established Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all associates.
  • Effectively follow the electronic filing system for internal and external documents while adhering to established retention policies.
  • Basic level at interpreting internal / external supplied documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, etc.)
  • Basic level of factory order processes and procedures. Able to retrieve product and process related information to perform job related duties.
  • Effectively manage time and prioritize projects according to deadlines and requested completion dates as needed.
  • Adhere to EFCO policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Basic level knowledge of navigating and using information found in the Engineering Reference Manual (ERM).
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Develop your knowledge of the AFS product lines.
  • Become familiar with the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to answer questions from manufacturing regarding production orders, deferring more advanced questions to appropriate parties.
  • Any additional duties assigned by their manager.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school education or equivalent, with one of the following:
    • 1 or more years of related experience working with the fabrication/assembly of window, curtainwall, and/or storefront products
    • (OR) Formal AutoCAD training or equivalent software proficiency
    • (OR)1 or more years of experience design drafting commercial or residential window, curtainwall, and/or storefront products.
  • Computer software experience in the following software
Required:
  • Microsoft Software (e.g., Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Internet / Intranet
  • Acrobat and PDF editing software
Desired:
  • AutoCAD or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of bill of materials
  • AS400
  • SharePoint Workflow
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Mathematical skills are essential to perform job duties effectively. Knowledge of algebra and geometry are desired.
  • Close attention to detail and focus on providing the most accurate information to internal and external customers.
  • Develop the ability to visualize in 3-D.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Mostly an office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor (proper PPE must be worn on manufacturing floor).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel related to other sites / corporate.
