We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HIM Document Scanning Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview: The HIM Document Scanning Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely scanning, indexing, and quality control of patient medical records. This role ensures that all documents are properly digitized and stored in our electronic health record (EHR) system, maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality. Responsibilities

  • Process documentation (document prep, scanning and indexing) into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Assure integrity and quality of medical records using document imaging technology with established quality control procedures.
  • Responsible for demonstrating knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations as evidenced by appropriate handling of Protected Health Information (PHI), promoting confidentiality and using discretion when handling patient and various hospital departments information.
  • Demonstrate competency by successfully meeting established scanning/indexing metrics for productivity and quality.
  • Communicate any issues to Management in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, accuracy, daily maintenance, and storage of all data both in an electronic and hard copy format consistent with the administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Medical Records experience
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated Attention to detail
  • Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
