Job Summary:

As a Health Information Management (HIM) Document Imaging Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of medical records. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently will be essential in meeting productivity and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately perform indexing process
• Complete all Indexing and Quality Control (QC) work in accordance with hospital defined productivity and quality standards
• Work assignments in the appropriate Distributed Control System, Quality Control (QC) and indexing work queues to ensure timely processing of all work assignments
• Process documentation (document prep, scanning and indexing) into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Assure integrity and quality of medical records using document imaging technology with established quality control procedures
• Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations as evidenced by appropriate handling of Protected Health Information (PHI), promoting confidentiality and using discretion when handling patient and various hospital departments information
• Communicate any issues to Management in a timely manner

Requirements:

• High School or GED
• Minimum 2 years of medical record experience
• Certification and licensure as required
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Critical thinking and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
