Description

As the primary person in this position, you will supervise and manage the daily administration and operations of all wellness programs, youth sports, and gymnastics. Your work will directly impact the health and well-being of the community, and you will be working under the general supervision of the Branch Executive.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise wellness staff, group exercise instructors, personal trainers, coaches, and volunteers.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee wellness programs to include youth sports and gymnastics in a way that exceeds community demands and is consistent with the Y's leadership principles.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the wellness budget. Closely monitor each purchase to ensure it is within budget guidelines.
  • Strive to enforce policies and procedures in a way that is consistent with the Y's leadership principles. Operate with the utmost integrity and a dutiful sense of responsibility.
  • Procure and maintain cleaning supplies for the entire facility. Oversee the cleaning master task list to ensure its timely and robust completion on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized environment.
  • Maintain basic first aid, CPR, and related wellness certifications as required.
  • Develop and implement interdepartmental programs for members and the community at large.
  • In close coordination with the Branch Executive, develop and oversee risk management to ensure the facility is always safe.
  • Ensure wellness equipment is organized and in serviceable condition, free of tears that compromise the ascetic and functional integrity of the equipment.
  • Participate in branch-led weekly leadership meetings and association-related cabinet meetings. Contribute to a robust collegial dialogue that reaches productive and fruitful outcomes consistent with the Y mission.
  • Closely collaborate with Y leadership to coordinate and implement community initiatives and special events to promote Y programs and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a closely related field is preferred but will consider applicable experience.
  • At least two years of program development experience.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience working in a moderate to fast-paced environment.
  • A critical thinker with sound problem-solving skills.
  • Group exercise or personal trainer certification preferred or a commitment to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Basic First Aid and CPR certification preferred or a commitment to obtain immediately.
  • Possess strong leadership and interpersonal relationship-building skills.
  • Possess strong computer and organizational skills.
  • Possess strong oral and written skills.
