Vaco's client in San Antonio is seeking a dynamic and experienced Accountant for a contract-to-hire position. The ideal candidate will have strong Income Statement (IS) and Balance Sheet (BS) experience, with a focus on financial statements for veterinary practices. This role requires a hands-on professional who can hit the ground running with minimal guidance. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate financial statements for veterinary practices. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and accrual-basis accounting. Manage accounts receivable (AR) and revenue, as well as accounts payable (AP) and expenses. Perform detailed journal entries (JEs), reconciliations, internal financial reporting, and analysis. Conduct thorough reconciliations, including cash and other balance sheet accounts, and clearly articulate recon experience. Adapt to organizational changes and effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Extensive experience with US GAAP and accrual-basis accounting. Proficiency in managing AR, AP, and expense accounts. Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis. Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions. Excellent communication skills and adaptability in a changing environment. Experience with large ERP systems. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Sage Intacct, particularly the General Ledger (GL). Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, up to $75,000.
