This role is based in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

To plan and perform a variety of manufacturing engineering functions to establish productive, cost-effective manufacturing methods and processes.

Responsibilities:
Evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and standards by studying product requirements, researching, and designing, modifying, and testing.
Analyzes, improves, and plans work force utilization, space requirements, equipment layout, and workflow to ensure maximum efficiency.
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product and tooling to ensure efficient production methods that support design for automation.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Keeps equipment operational by using the manufacturers instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Participate in Kaizen events to ensure continuous process improvement.
Contributes to cross functional team effort.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Primary job functions do not require exercising independent judgment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
1-5 years experience in a related position within a manufacturing environment
Experience with implementing and maintaining automated systems preferred.
Qualifications:
Experience with PC based Word, Excel, MS Project, Access, Power Point, CAD, Solid Works, and ERP
Experience dealing with complexity, informing others, leadership, manufacturing methods and procedures, manufacturing quality, product development, design for automation and presenting technical information.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
Ability to effectively present information to management, engineers, vendors, assembly line supervisors and workers
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and does not require exercising independent judgement.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Works under immediate supervision
