Job Summary:

Independence Pet Group is seeking a Financial Systems Leader responsible for monitoring the systems and processes that support the monthly outlook and annual budget, segment financial reporting, financial hierarchy governance and corporate allocations. This role will be a leader in finance, technology, strategy and change management, helping the business re-imagine their future state processes and tools centered around automation and on-demand availability of data and results. Ultimately, this role will effectively influence and implement process enhancements and ensure well managed monthly processes.

The Financial Systems Leader oversees the design, configuration, and deployment of technical solutions to business problems. This role's responsibilities span creation of the solutions vision to deployments that meet their clients' needs and preferences. Their main duties include determining the overall vision of the solution, managing various backlog items and deciding which features each solution will have according to business partner's preferences.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for innovation and end-to-end launch of solutions.
  • Collaborates with global commercial services partners and departments to co-develop a roadmap and drive solutions and features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, engineering, and user enablement.
  • Turns data insights into solutions with actionable outcomes to the ultimate department.
  • Follows a methodology, e.g. Agile, to continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks.
  • Partners with stakeholders and departments across the organization to inform the solution vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.
  • Develops, owns, and executes solution roadmap.
  • Works with user-focused departments to define the self-service user experience, support, and monitoring for departments.
  • Partners with sales departments to define the user experience for internal users, including support and monitoring.
  • Translates solution roadmap features into well-defined solution requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
  • Prioritizes and maintains the sprint backlog for assigned solutions, balancing the requirements of stakeholders.
  • Leads the solution functional design process based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology.
  • Defines and executes go-to-market plan, working to ensure that solution management, marketing, and sales have what they need to be successful.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate tracking and reporting of solution performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.
  • Leading the design and implementation of solutions that will enable process re-imagination and change the way they work.
  • Actively support training, development and evaluation of associates to create a high-performing, cohesive team.
  • Managing relationships with users and holding regular updates with executive leadership across the Finance organization.
  • Developing a deep subject matter expertise of the underlying technology, controls and governance supporting planning and reporting processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance supplemented by experience in financial systems. CPA or MBA.
  • 10+ years relative accounting, finance, and/or technical experience (MIS).
  • 5+ years of experience in managing ERP / Procure-to-Pay financial systems including implementations. Experience in Microsoft D365 F&O is preferred (let's not narrow to D365 as other ERPs are very similar).
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen.
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA or MBA
  • Strong understanding of US GAPP and IFRS financial reporting from the financial systems.
  • Experience in financial statement consolidations and intercompany elimination processes.
  • Experience in Enterprise Planning systems, Payroll & Benefit system (Workday) preferred.
  • Experience in treasury platform and payment systems such as JPMC.
  • Experience in financial reporting.
  • Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a department-first mindset.
  • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles.
  • Experience successfully driving end-to-end delivery of data and intelligence solutions, including a wide variety of mechanisms, e.g. dashboards, APIs, real time alerts, etc.
  • Experience with procurement, expense management, and treasury businesses and processes.
