Design Quality Engineer

WiTricity is seeking an experienced Design Quality Engineer at our Watertown, MA headquarters to join our Global Engineering and Quality team. This role will work closely with our global product development and manufacturing teams to ensure and improve the quality and reliability of WiTricity's products and product development process, drive risk mitigation of product failure, and functional safety and cybersecurity. They will communicate with program and product management teams to meet product and design process requirements. This position will be based at our HQ in Watertown, MA with a hybrid work schedule consisting of a minimum of 3-days per week in office. Responsibilities:Interface with cross-functional product development teams to provide leadership on the understanding and implementation of quality methodologies (PDCA, Kaizen, etc.), tools (APQP, PPAP, etc.), regulatory and environmental compliance, safety, and cybersecurity requirements.Plan, review and verify with product development teams on design documentation and deliverables at various product phase-gate milestones.Responsible for quality deliverables required within the product development process to meet the requirements of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, etc.Ensure strict compliance to external customer and internal stakeholder requirements and actively support product development team on product design, verification, validation and transfer into manufacturing.Lead risk management activities (DFMEA, FTA, etc.) with product development teams on product failure, safety, and cybersecurity from product concept, through manufacturing, commercialization and decommissioning/end-of-life.Champion continual improvement initiatives within product development teams to optimize product design, prototype builds, product development process and deliverables.Lead to engage product development teams on the root cause investigation, resolution and prevention of product and process non-conformances.Carry out internal audits on product development process and related QMS processes as required.Ensure that customer requirements are understood, met and applied within the defined scopes and the employee area of work responsibility.Use engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including FMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Control Plan (CP) and Project Management.Identify product and process special characteristics with compliance to customer- or WiTricity-specified SC and symbolsUnderstand the terms and concepts associated with measurement systems analysisRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, Computer Science or related discipline.5+ years of working experience in quality assurance for new product introduction and manufacturing, preferably in automotive, power tools or similar industries.A good knowledge of quality planning and management core tools for IATF 16949, product hardware and software engineering.Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to details.Excellent communication, cooperation and influencing skills when working with senior leadership internally, and externally with customers and partners.Experience in working in an international multi-time zones environment.Willing to travel domestically and internationally such as East and Southeast Asia.Certified Quality Engineer/Inspector/Auditor by ASQ is a plus.Good knowledge of product hardware and software engineering risk analysis methods with execution (FTA, D/PFMEA, etc.)Knowledge to analyze measurement variation and determine the short-term capability (i.e., gage repeatability & reproducibility) and performance (using control chart) of a measurement systemAbout WiTricity:WiTricity is the pioneer in wireless charging for electric vehicles, leading the development and implementation of magnetic resonance technology across passenger and commercial vehicles.
